Behind the Beams: Lasers for G-DRAGON's Übermensch Tour in Jakarta

How Luxe Laser lit up two sold-out nights of G-DRAGON's 2025 World Tour [Übermensch] at Indonesia Arena, and what arena laser design takes.

Laser beams sweeping across Indonesia Arena during G-DRAGON's Übermensch concert

In July 2025, G-DRAGON returned to Indonesia with his 2025 World Tour [Übermensch]. It was his first tour in eight years, built around his album Übermensch. The Jakarta stop at Indonesia Arena, Senayan, grew from one night to two (25 and 26 July) after the first date sold out within an hour. Luxe Laser was the lead laser vendor for both shows.

A show built on storytelling

Übermensch was not a standard K-pop arena setup. According to The Jakarta Post’s review, the stage included:

  • a T-shaped runway cutting through the floor,
  • hidden panels that unfolded into staircases,
  • a crane draped in daisies that lifted G-DRAGON over the upper tiers,
  • two towering grey figures echoing the album cover.

With that much going on, the lasers had one job: support the story, not compete with it.

How the lasers were used

Every looks package was matched to the music:

  • Beam fans and aerial crossings swept the full width of the arena on the high-energy tracks, pulling the upper tiers into the show.
  • Red-and-blue beam grids framed G-DRAGON and his dancers on stage, turning the performers into the centre of a moving cage of light.
  • Light-sheet effects sliced through the air above the stage for the biggest moments.
  • White lasers set a softer, cinematic mood for “Drama”, matching the sheer fabric staging described by The Jakarta Post.

What arena shows teach us

An indoor arena like Indonesia Arena, with a capacity of around 16,500, is different from an open-air stadium. Beams travel shorter distances and bounce off a roof. The audience is close on every side, from the floor to the top tier. That means careful aiming and audience-scanning safety zones. It also means looks that read well from both the pit and the back row.
